The Bone Throne
Three weeks of base construction, sanding, primer, painting and fog machine setting went into this creation. Composed of plywood, and sculpted out with expanding foam and covered with drywall plaster for extra strength and weight for heavy duty use, the Bone Throne was one of the main sets used in 2008’s Boo at the Zoo. One of our actors would sit in the chair quietly, and operate a small hidden switch that controlled a build in fog machine. The fog would pour out of the mouth at the top of the prop, and cool enough in the pipe so that it created a delightfully ghoulish fog “waterfall” down onto the actor, who would use this to lure people in for curiosity.
Most of the time, the guests and onlookers never turned around to see what was behind them, until it was too late...
